IN-LHC designs and manufactures numerous equipment dedicated to Engine control and regulation.
· Fuel servovalves are used for fuel metering, either by controlling directly the flow to the fuel nozzle or by controlling the metering valve position in an electrohydraulic control loop. They are also used to convert FADEC signal into actuator hydraulic command. They add to a common design basis with flight control servovalves specific features for engine application (high temperature, contamination, need for specific safety functions like fail freeze or creep rate).
· Solenoid valves control critical steps like starting and shutdown (overspeed). They are designed for fast response, high reliability and null leakage. Fire protection can also be integrated.
· Bleed Valves are used for compressor optimal operation. In response to electrical speed signal or by sensing directly pressure ratio, they divert air flow from the LP stage to reduce HP stage load. Other valves are used to meter cooling air flow for rotor/stator clearance control.
· Pressure switches monitor every fluid circuit pressure level: fuel, air, oil, and deliver a warning in case of filter clogging. Their snap action design gives them the robustness required for engine application, while their simple electromechanical principle makes them affordable.
· Chip sensors trap magnetic particles in lubrication system and reports the level of contamination to the health and monitoring system via an electrical signal.
· Actuators use fuel as power source and thus are designed to avoid external leakage in adverse conditions. They control accurately the position of the complex kinematics which drives distributed bleed valve system and variable geometry compressor vane pitch. The positions loop closure is performed by a LVDT integrated in the actuator. |
